Popular television actors Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij have officially announced their separation after 14 years of marriage, putting an end to months of speculation.
On January 4, Jay Bhanushali confirmed the news through an Instagram story. Rumors about their separation had first surfaced in 2025, but Mahhi Vij had dismissed them at the time. However, as per media reports, the couple filed for divorce in 2025, and the legal process was completed around July–August.
Jay and Mahhi first met at a club and later tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony in 2011. Over the years, they built a family together. They became foster parents to Rajeev and Khushi, and in 2019, welcomed their daughter Tara through IVF.
Despite deciding to part ways, the couple made it clear that their separation will not affect their children. In a joint statement, they said they are committed to being the best parents to Tara, Khushi and Rajveer.
“For the sake of our children, Tara, Khushi and Rajveer, we commit to being the best parents, the best friends, and whatever else it takes to do what is right for them. Though we walk separate paths, there is no villain in this story and no negativity attached to this decision,” the statement read.
They also stressed that the decision was mutual, and that they will continue to remain friends, supporting and respecting each other. The couple requested people not to speculate and to respect their privacy during this time.
Jay and Mahhi also appealed to the media and fans to avoid spreading rumours and thanked their supporters for their unconditional love. In their Instagram message, they added, “With mutual respect, we ask for your respect, love, and kindness as we move forward.”
The couple said they are choosing peace over drama as they begin this new chapter of their lives.
